About the tour
Many Amsterdammers have their own boat. Or know someone with a boat. It’s always good to be friends with a boat owner. From the first sunny day in spring till the last sunny day in autumn, Amsterdammers take each chance they have to sail the canals. Alone, with the family or some friends. A small sloop is perfectly suitable for this activity. Like the locals do, we bring along a picnic basket, with some drinks and bites. You will truly feel like an Amsterdammer these hours!
Enjoy a relaxing boat ride. Your guide will make sure you maneuver safely along some of the most scenic spots of the city. Meanwhile, we share stories about the history, architecture and other interesting themes of Amsterdam’s canals.
Canal ring: Unesco World heritage
Since 2010 the Canal ring is listed as a Unesco World heritage site. The authenticity and beauty of these canals appeal to both Amsterdammers and visitors. The Canal ring is a unique masterpiece of water management, city planning and architecture. Once you are on board, you find yourself literally amid the scenery. Being below street level and right in the middle of the canals, gives you a whole new, unique perspective on Amsterdam.
Amsterdam has got around 1600 canals with a total length of over 100 kilometer. We can adjust the length and route of your canal tour to your personal interests and itinerary. Are you staying along one of Amsterdam’s canals? We can pick you up right at your hotel, or decide on the best starting point together. The same goes for the drop off point: this can be anywhere fitting your programme.
Where is the meeting point?

Which boat types are available? And how to choose the ‘right’ boat?
